Sales EngineerHubbell Electric Heater Company is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Sales Engineer to support customers and internal sales teams with engineered water heating solutions. This role combines technical application support, customer engagement, and sales coordination to ensure accurate product selection, sizing, and successful project execution.This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role suited for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with engineers, and supporting industrial and commercial heating applications.Position SummaryThe Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting customers and sales representatives with technical expertise related to Hubbell's water heating products and systems. This includes assisting with product selection, sizing, pricing, and technical problem-solving throughout the sales cycle.The ideal candidate will be able to translate technical concepts into clear, practical guidance for both customers and internal teams while helping ensure accurate and timely execution of orders and quotations.Key ResponsibilitiesWork directly with specifying engineers and manufacturer representatives on product selection and sizingProvide technical support to internal sales teams throughout the quoting and order processPrepare and support pricing quotes and review sales contracts for accuracyDevelop and deliver technical presentations for customers and sales meetingsParticipate in trade shows and technical seminars, including product demonstrationsCollaborate with customers and engineers to determine system requirements and equipment needsTroubleshoot basic operational and technical issues related to installed productsRecommend product improvements or upgrades based on customer needs and feedbackGather and document customer feedback to support sales and marketing strategyAssist with preparation of business reports and tracking of customer interactionsSupport and train sales team members on technical product knowledgeProvide costing input including estimated material and labor for quoting purposesMaintain and update pricing calculators and quoting toolsPrepare technical submittal packages (drawings, installation documents, product data sheets)Coordinate with Engineering and Production teams to ensure timely customer responsesSupport maintenance of sales quote tracking tools and internal systemsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferredEquivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience consideredExperience with electrical systems, heating systems, or similar engineered products strongly preferredTechnical SkillsAbility to understand and apply electrical fundamentals (volts, amps, kW calculations)SolidWorks and Revit experience is a plus, but not requiredNo formal on-the-job training will be provided for design softwareProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Core SkillsStrong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearlyStrong analytical and problem-solving abilityAbility to work independently and within cross-functional teamsStrong customer service mindset and relationship-building skillsDetail-oriented with strong organizational abilityWorking ConditionsOffice-based role with interaction across engineering, sales, and manufacturing teamsDomestic travel approximately 3–4 times per yearInternational travel is rareOccasional extended hours may be required during peak business cyclesHubbell Work StandardsStrong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively across functionsCommitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policiesAbility to operate effectively in a manufacturing environmentCompliance with applicable company and regulatory requirementsWhy This RoleThis position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of engineering and sales in a highly technical manufacturing environment.
