Your adventure awaits! Egis Mobile Electric, a division of Patrick Industries, is seeking a sales engineer to support growth with OEMs and strategic customers throughout the United States. This is a customer-facing technical sales role focused on understanding customer electrical systems, solving application challenges, specifying Egis products and solutions, and converting opportunities into business. The successful candidate will work directly with boatbuilders, vehicle manufacturers, engineers, installers, distributors, and manufacturers' representatives to evaluate electrical architectures, develop practical solutions, and drive business growth. This role combines technical expertise in marine and mobile DC electrical systems with business development, account management, and customer engagement responsibilities.Responsibilities & Duties:Customer Engagement & Technical SalesMeet with OEMs and customers to understand electrical systems, applications, challenges, and future requirementsSolve application and system-level challenges while developing practical customer-focused solutionsPresent Egis products, capabilities, and value propositions to customers and engineering teamsBuild trusted relationships with customers, distributors, installers, and industry partnersSupport customer projects from initial concept through production implementationParticipate in customer meetings, trade shows, distributor events, and other commercial activitiesApplication Engineering & Solution DevelopmentEvaluate customer electrical architectures and recommend technically sound solutions utilizing Egis productsSupport circuit protection, switching, power distribution, charging systems, and related electrical applicationsRead, interpret, develop, and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layoutsCreate and update high-level electrical schematics and system concepts using CAD softwareAnalyze unfamiliar electrical-system challenges and develop practical solutionsSupport product specification activities throughout customer development programsQuoting & Commercial SupportDevelop product configurations and bills of materialPrepare customer quotations utilizing established pricing and commercial guidelinesSupport customers through evaluation, specification, purchasing, and implementation activitiesAssist with commercial discussions and opportunity managementMaintain accurate customer, project, and opportunity information within company systemsCoordinate with internal teams to deliver timely and accurate customer responsesTraining & Customer SupportProvide technical product and application training to OEM customers, distributors, and manufacturers' representativesServe as a technical resource for customers evaluating electrical-system solutionsSupport troubleshooting and resolution of technical application challengesBuild and maintain expertise in evolving marine and mobile electrical technologiesCommunicate customer feedback and technical requirements to internal stakeholdersQualifications and Skills:Strong practical understanding of marine and mobile DC electrical systemsKnowledge of battery systems, circuit protection, relays, contactors, switching, power distribution, charging systems, grounding, conductor sizing, voltage drop, and related electrical principlesAbility to read, interpret, develop, and modify electrical schematics and system-level drawingsExperience utilizing CAD software to create and modify technical drawings and schematicsDemonstrated ability to evaluate unfamiliar electrical-system challenges and develop practical solutionsStrong technical aptitude and ability to quickly understand new products, technologies, and applicationsAbility to communicate effectively with engineers, technical personnel, and non-technical stakeholdersStrong interpersonal, relationship-building, and customer-facing skillsAbility to work independently within a remote environmentAbility and willingness to travel approximately 20%Access to a professional home-office environment and reliable internet connectivityDirect experience with marine electrical systems, boatbuilding, marine equipment, or electrical-system design and installation preferredHands-on experience designing, installing, troubleshooting, or modifying DC electrical systems preferredExperience working directly with boatbuilders, vehicle manufacturers, or other OEMs preferredABYC training or certification preferredExperience in applications engineering, field engineering, technical sales, product management, or business development preferredExperience working with manufacturers' representatives and technical sales organizations preferredFamiliarity with NMEA 2000, CAN-based systems, digital switching, lithium battery systems, and related technologies preferredBachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent practical experience will be consideredCompensation Range $80,000 - $100,000 annually Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the position.
