Allegiant Technologies, A Crexendo Company is a Kansas City-based Managed Services Provider and offers UCaaS and CCaaS products to businesses. We are the technology partner businesses call when they are tired of juggling multiple vendors. We manage voice, network, security, IT, and connectivity under one roof, backed by Crexendo's cloud communications platform. One team, one bill, one point of accountability.
We are hiring a Sales Engineer and Solutions Architect to own the technical side of our network, security, and infrastructure business.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is the person who turns a customer requirement into a solution that can actually be built, priced, and delivered. You will own the technical workflow from the first discovery call through contract signature: solution architecture, site surveys, scoping, statements of work, demos, and pricing. You will stay involved after the sale as the technical contact for business reviews, renewals, and the architecture conversations that come up as customers grow.
You will work alongside account executives, but you will not be stuck behind them. Our SEs present solutions directly to customers, field the hard questions, and help close the deal.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK WITH
- Ruckus wireless, switching, and RUCKUS One cloud management. This is your deepest area of ownership.
- WatchGuard firewalls, MFA, DNS protection, and cloud management.
- LAN and WAN design, VLANs, QoS, PoE, segmentation, structured cabling, and multi-site rollouts.
- Microsoft 365 and Azure licensing and migration planning through our Pax8 relationship.
- Connectivity procurement through our AT&T reseller relationship and a broker network covering 50+ carriers.
- Professional services scoping: labor estimation, project phasing, and statements of work.
- Pre-sales support across our managed services stack, including RMM, EDR, MDR, backup, and email security.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead discovery calls and conduct on-site surveys, translating business requirements into documented, deliverable solutions.
- Produce bills of materials, labor estimates, and statements of work that hold through delivery without rescoping.
- Design networks that support the voice and contact center platforms riding on them.
- Present quotes and solutions directly to customers, and help account executives carry deals forward.
- Identify and document technical risk early, before it becomes an unplanned cost or a delayed go-live.
- Manage vendor relationships through the deal cycle and work with procurement and billing on quoting, orders, and invoicing.
- Track licensing and support renewals across the installed base and surface refresh opportunities.
- Train the sales team on what we sell, how to qualify it, and how to handle objections.
- Partner with Implementation and Operations so what gets sold is what gets delivered.
A NOTE ON SCOPE
This is a pre-sales role. On Ruckus you are the primary technical owner end to end. On WatchGuard, Microsoft, and the managed services stack, you own the design and the scope while our Operations and Security teams own implementation and ongoing delivery. We are upfront about that line because getting it wrong is how deals get oversold.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or senior network engineering, ideally at an MSP, VAR, or managed services provider.
- Hands-on design and troubleshooting across routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, PoE, DHCP, DNS, and VPN.
- Working knowledge of firewall platforms and layered security services. WatchGuard preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 licensing, tenant administration, and migration planning.
- Proven ability to author statements of work and estimate labor accurately.
- Comfort presenting to and negotiating with customers directly.
- The ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience without talking down to anyone.
NICE TO HAVE
- Certifications from Ruckus, WatchGuard, Microsoft, Cisco, or CompTIA (Network+ / Security+).
- Experience with UCaaS or CCaaS deployments and the network requirements around them, particularly NetSapiens-based platforms.
- Background selling through a channel or agent model such as Telarus or Avant.
- Working experience with ConnectWise or a comparable PSA and quoting toolset.
- Exposure to structured cabling, low voltage, and physical site buildouts.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
By day 30, you are running discovery independently on network and wireless deals. By day 60, you own opportunities end to end and you are the sales team's first call on infrastructure questions. By day 90, you are fully independent on design, scoping, and pricing, presenting to customers directly, and finding refresh work in the installed base.
Allegiant and Crexendo are equal opportunity employers. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
