The Sales Director is directly responsible for the sales, growth, customer satisfaction and gross contributions results within the assigned geographic scope and product portfolio. The role includes direct management of the sales director team and transformational leadership to identify strategic channel capability, unlock value at new and existing customers, and assess talent capabilities to meet the annual operating plan. The position focuses on talent development, management, succession planning and instilling commercial excellence across downstream teams.

Sales Leadership
- Plan, control and direct activities of the sales force to maximize time efficiency, prioritization, sales volume, growth and contribution
- Appraise existing sales performance and direct sales programs and objectives within the region
- Ensure the sales team is trained to perform their jobs effectively and manage talent to maintain high performance levels
- Ensure consistent delivery of "One Amcor Way" as per the Value Plus Commercial Excellence Program
- Provide senior management with regular business updates and courses of action
- Facilitate integrated and cross‑business decisions on sales and marketing to optimize for "Amcor" as a whole
Leadership and People Management
- Lead, develop, engage, motivate and assign people to appropriate tasks; provide career development and succession planning
- Achieve and maintain strong team performance, manage individual KPIs and address gaps effectively
- Implement commercial excellence programs and principles with the sales team
- Model Amcor's values in all internal and external interactions, exhibiting desired behaviours and approaches
Strategic and Key Account Management
- Oversee development and management of account plans for strategic and/or global key accounts
- Understand and develop relationships with key decision makers

What we want from you
- Education: University degree in a relevant field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial or adjacent roles in a complex industry (ideally food or healthcare packaging)
- Successful leadership and management of national and regional accounts with proven strategies to grow top line, develop channel strategy and demonstrate customer profitability
- Leadership of a complex organizational structure with small, medium and large accounts focused on commercial excellence
- Leadership of a large organization with proven strategies on talent management, succession planning, and talent assessment
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and polish needed to effectively share and engage the organization and customers

Compensation
Starting salary is expected to be between $176,100 and $220,100, with base pay possibly ranging up to $264,100 depending on experience. The role may also be eligible for Amcor's Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits. The salary range reflects anticipated base pay for this role at the time of posting and may vary by jurisdiction.
