Sales Consultant

Job Summary

The Sales Associate at La‑Z‑Boy is responsible for selling Home Comfort Furniture and related services, delivering a premium customer experience, and meeting store sales goals. The role involves training in luxury sales, interior trends, and design consultation, with the opportunity to grow through unlimited commission.

Key Responsibilities

• Interact with customers professionally and enthusiastically to provide the highest level of service.
• Drive sales by successfully promoting and selling La‑Z‑Boy furniture, accessories, and services.
• Complete all sales paperwork accurately and handle customer service issues promptly.
• Attend and participate in company training, store meetings, and product knowledge sessions.
• Assist in training, coaching, and developing new peers on La‑Z‑Boy product knowledge and sales processes.
• Maintain accurate order information, collect deposits/fees, keep orderly customer records, and research payments and deliveries.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to harassment, attendance, sales, and customer interaction.
• Perform a minimum number of house calls to customer homes as required and maintain a sales average consistent with company standards.

Competencies & Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and rapport‑building skills.
• Experience in retail or luxury sales preferred.
• Ability to close sales and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient with computer technology.
• Must be able to bend, lift, and stand for long periods and have reliable transportation for customer visits.

Compensation

Training Pay: $22.00 per hour for 2 weeks (no commission).
After training: Base salary $45,864 per year, with un‑capped monthly commission ranging from 6% to 7.5% on individual written sales based on meeting specific sales goals.
