Position Summary
We are seeking a Safety Specialist to lead workplace safety programs, promote a safety-first culture, and support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations. This role conducts inspections, delivers training, investigates incidents, manages safety records, and helps reduce workplace risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
- Conduct workplace inspections, identify hazards, document corrective actions, and follow through on resolution.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Deliver employee safety training, including forklift and overhead crane operator training.
- Maintain emergency response and evacuation plans and coordinate drills.
- Monitor permits, certifications, regulatory changes, and safety documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and provide safety performance reports to management.
- Analyze safety trends and recommend improvements to systems and processes.
- Serve as a liaison among employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
