Job Title: Safety Manager
Summary:
The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and improving workplace safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a strong safety culture. This role involves developing safety procedures, conducting audits, training employees, and managing safety records.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
* Lead and support safety investigations, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
* Conduct safety audits and inspections of the facility, equipment, and work practices.
* Develop and update safety procedures, policies, and training programs.
* Analyze safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Perform job hazard analyses, ergonomic assessments, and risk evaluations.
* Oversee safety equipment inventory and environmental monitoring.
* Manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs.
* Lead safety meetings, training sessions, and new hire safety orientations.
* Maintain safety documentation, records, and reporting in safety management software.
* Support continuous improvement projects to reduce workplace risks.
* Provide guidance to managers and employees on safety best practices.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Technology, or related field.
* 5+ years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment.
* Professional safety certification (SMS, GSP, ASP, or CSP) required.
* First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
* OSHA training certification preferred.
* Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
* Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
