Construction Safety Manager

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Duration: 3+ Months (Start: 7/13)

Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $52.50/hr (Local)

Per Diem: None

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 40 Hours Per Week (5x8s)

Join a structural steel contractor supporting the construction of a new music venue in Cincinnati, OH. This role offers the opportunity to oversee safety activities during the structural steel erection phase, including ironworker operations, steel installation, crane-assisted material handling, and elevated work.

The selected candidate will provide hands‑on field safety leadership while partnering with project supervision and ironworker crews to ensure safe and efficient execution of structural steel activities.

Required Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • 3+ years of construction safety experience
  • Structural steel safety oversight experience
  • Ironworker, steel erection, or structural steel field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial construction experience
  • Experience supporting entertainment venues, stadiums, or large commercial projects
  • Experience with crane and rigging operations
  • Signal Person experience
  • CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Oversee daily safety activities for structural steel construction operations
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Monitor steel erection and ironworker activities
  • Support and enforce fall protection programs and leading‑edge work procedures
  • Monitor crane operations, rigging activities, and material handling processes
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), lift plans, and pre‑task plans
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Deliver safety orientations and ongoing safety coaching
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Partner with project supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the project
