Must hold CHST certification; other BCSP certifications (e.g., CSMC) considered. Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety preferred. OSHA 510/500, OSHA 30, and First Aid CPR certifications required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint. Strong communication and customer relations skills. Willingness to travel within a region and work overtime, weekends if needed.

Job Summary

Responsible for implementing, administering, and monitoring all IES safety policies, procedures, and programs for the assigned geographical region and/or client locations. Ensure compliance with IES, Site/Customer, Federal, and State safety standards. Develop and manage safety/health initiatives to prevent occupational incidents, injuries, and illnesses.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Fully support all IES safety policies, procedures, and programs and Federal and State Standards. Ensure implementation and compliance within the Communications Division and Site/Customer Site Specific Policies. Provide guidance for operations in developing action plans for any branch, office, or project not meeting safety goals. Perform safety presentations and develop related training. Schedule and coordinate safety audits/inspections. Conduct or direct activities to identify hazards and develop corrective action plans. Develop processes to reduce or eliminate hazards. Deliver safety training to management. Prepare written reports and summaries on safety audits, investigations, and issues. Conduct root cause investigations on recordable incidents, near misses, and vehicle incidents. Establish committees and communication channels within the region. Notify the Director of Safety and DSM of any OSHA inspection and provide guidance or attend as feasible. Prepare and maintain safety records and reports, including OSHA 300 logs. Mentor stakeholders to uphold the IES Safety Culture. Participate in hiring and managing site safety coordinators and managers. Review claims within the region and Division. Travel as required for business needs. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years in construction safety, preferably in telecommunications or electrical industries, or equivalent. Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction and Confined Space Entry Standards. Current status as an Authorized OSHA OTI 500 Construction Outreach Trainer or CHST certification. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer knowledge and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Detail-oriented with high organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, IES management, and customer interfaces. Availability to support all safety emergency situations. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Self-motivated, positive, and professional. Able to lead others and implement process improvements. Acts as the company liaison with customers, vendors, contractors, and IES representatives. Possesses problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Able to travel within regional territory as needed. Manual dexterity, flexibility, and visual acuity required for inspection functions—walking, climbing, squatting, lifting, bending, twisting. Capable of lifting 50 lbs. Must maintain body equilibrium to prevent falls. Comfortable with repetitive arm and hand movements. Able to learn company and customer computer systems. Meets company minimum driving standards.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements

High School diploma or GED; Associate degree or higher preferred. Minimum 6+ years of experience. Must possess a valid driver's license. Detailed knowledge of MS Office and safety regulations is essential.
