Our client, a leading global provider of technology and operations solutions that powers many of the world's most important financial institutions, is looking for a Safety Director (Safety & Environmental Health) to join their team.

The Safety Director will lead Safety & Environmental Health (SEH) programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing workplace risk, supporting workers' compensation and environmental initiatives, and fostering a proactive safety culture across production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Safety Committees and partner with site leadership to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and improve overall safety performance.
  • Direct workplace emergency response, accident investigations, root cause analyses, and preventive action plans.
  • Conduct regular safety and environmental health audits of facilities, equipment, and work environments.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain OSHA-compliant safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Partner with regulatory agencies, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Oversee environmental health programs, including hazardous waste management, spill response, permits, and reporting.
  • Lead implementation and optimization of safety management systems for incident reporting, inspections, training, and compliance documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement through safety reporting, data analysis, and standardized safety programs across multiple locations.
  • Partner with HR, Risk Management, and workers' compensation providers to support injury management, ergonomic initiatives, and loss prevention.
  • Manage SEH budgets while supporting corporate safety initiatives across U.S. operations.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of safety leadership experience within a manufacturing, production, industrial, or similar operational environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable state and federal safety requirements.
  • Experience leading safety audits, incident investigations, compliance programs, and environmental health initiatives.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver safety training while building effective relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Postsecondary education required; Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Engineering, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.
  • CSP or ASP certification preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and manufacturing safety experience are highly preferred.
