The Safety and Environmental Manager manages the development and administration of programs to ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health and safety regulations.

A Day In The Life

  • Identifying and appraising risk conditions which could produce occupational injuries or illnesses.
  • Evaluating potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents and classifying particular workstations.
  • Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents.
  • Investigating occupational accidents and analyzing their causes to prevent them.
  • Co-operating with employees’ council or labor union in the field of occupational health and safety.
  • Ensuring training for employees entering work areas of the organization.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Services, Public Health, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • Current and active relevant certifications (required)
  • 10+ years of relevant experience (required)
  • 10-15 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
  • Keen ability in producing reports and developing policies.
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Proficiency in relevant systems and software.
