Safety & Compliance ManagerAl Warren Oil Company is seeking a technically driven and detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Manager to support and strengthen transportation safety, regulatory compliance, and operational safety systems across our fuel, lubricant, and fleet operations.This role is ideal for a safety professional who thrives in a fast-paced transportation environment and has experience working with DOT compliance, driver qualification systems, ELD platforms, telematics, reporting, and transportation safety technology. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, proactive, and passionate about building a strong culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.As the Safety & Compliance Manager, you will oversee transportation compliance activities, support safety initiatives, maintain audit-ready documentation, manage driver qualification and compliance systems, assist with incident investigations, and support operational teams through safety technology and reporting.Support Transportation Safety & Compliance ProgramsMaintain and support company safety policies, compliance procedures, and transportation safety programsEnsure compliance with:FMCSA regulationsDOT requirementsOSHA standardsHazardous Materials (HazMat) RegulationsDOT Drug and Alcohol RegulationsHelp maintain audit-ready compliance documentation and recordsSupport company-wide safety initiatives focused on reducing risk and improving operational safety performancePartner with operations, dispatch, maintenance, and leadership teams to support safe and compliant operationsSafety Systems & TechnologyManage and monitor ELD, telematics, and in-cab camera systems (Samsara, Netradyne, Motive, Geotab, or similar platforms)Review safety events, driver scorecards, and compliance alertsGenerate safety, compliance, and operational performance reportsSupport FMCSA Clearinghouse administration and monitoringMaintain electronic driver qualification (DQ) files and compliance databasesTrack CDL expirations, medical cards, HazMat endorsements, and annual driver requirementsAssist with troubleshooting and improving safety technology and compliance systemsMonitor CSA scores, violations, and fleet safety trendsTransportation Compliance ResponsibilitiesAssist with Hours-of-Service and ELD compliance managementReview driver logs and identify compliance issuesSupport DOT audit preparation and compliance reviewsMaintain records related to:Driver qualification filesCDL and medical card requirementsHazMat endorsementsDrug and alcohol testing programsAnnual driver reviewsFMCSA Clearinghouse requirementsSupport fleet permit and registration tracking including IFTA and IRP requirementsAssist with transportation compliance reporting and documentation managementIncident Management & ReportingAssist with investigating and documenting:Vehicle accidentsFuel spillsWorkplace injuriesCustomer incidentsNear missesSupport corrective action tracking and follow-upCoordinate incident documentation with operations, insurance providers, and leadership teamsMaintain organized incident records and reporting filesDriver Onboarding & Training SupportAssist with driver onboarding compliance documentation and qualification requirementsSupport orientation and ongoing safety training initiativesMaintain training documentation and compliance recordsAssist with:HazMat trainingDefensive driving programsOSHA training requirementsCustomer-specific site trainingQuarterly safety meetingsRefresher and remedial training programsWhat We're Looking ForExperience3+ years of experience in transportation safety, DOT compliance, fleet operations, or logistics compliance preferredStrong working knowledge of:FMCSA regulationsHours-of-Service complianceELD systemsHazardous Materials transportation regulationsDOT Drug and Alcohol requirementsDriver qualification file managementFleet safety and telematics systemsExperience with transportation safety platforms, reporting systems, and compliance software preferredSkills & QualificationsStrong organizational and multitasking abilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively across departmentsProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially ExcelExperience with safety/compliance software systems preferredAbility to analyze safety trends and compliance dataSelf-starter with a hands-on and solutions-oriented mindsetHigh school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferredWhy Join Al Warren Oil Company?At Al Warren Oil Company and Altom Transport, safety is more than a priority — it's part of who we are.
