Safety Administrative AssistantThe Safety Administrative Assistant supports the safety and human resources functions by developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs, conducting training, and performing administrative and recordkeeping duties. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe work environment, responding to incidents, and helping team members feel comfortable raising safety concerns in a bilingual, production-focused setting.ResponsibilitiesCreate and implement safety plans and ensure they are followed consistently on a daily basis.Review existing safety policies and procedures and recommend improvements where needed.Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential safety and health hazards and communicate findings to appropriate stakeholders.Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of applicable safety regulations and company safety standards.Identify safety training needs across all shifts and develop action plans to complete required training.Coordinate and ensure completion of annual safety refresher training for employees.Conduct powered industrial truck training sessions and maintain related documentation.Perform administrative duties and safety-related recordkeeping with accuracy and attention to detail.Support injury triage by gathering information, documenting incidents, and assisting with initial reporting.Conduct thorough accident and incident investigations, including interviewing involved parties and witnesses.Collaborate with supervisors and HR to assist with investigations and follow-up actions.Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders by responding promptly and professionally to safety-related questions and concerns.Use Microsoft Office tools to prepare reports, training materials, and documentation.Maintain and update safety data, injury reporting records, and training logs.Communicate clearly and effectively in both English and Spanish, including leading trainings and presenting information to groups.Build trust with employees by being approachable and encouraging them to bring forward safety concerns.Demonstrate reliability and motivation to learn, taking initiative to stay informed about safety best practices.Support human resources processes related to safety, such as injury reporting and follow-up documentation.Flex schedule as needed to be present across different shifts when incidents or training needs arise.Essential SkillsFluent in both Spanish and English, with the ability to read, write, and speak clearly in both languages.Strong communication skills for interacting with supervisors, leading group trainings, and conducting investigations.High level of approachability and the ability to make employees feel comfortable bringing up safety concerns.Demonstrated reliability, motivation to learn, and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and training materials.Customer service skills for working effectively with employees and supervisors.Safety awareness and interest in safety programs, training, and regulations.Administrative skills, including accurate data entry and recordkeeping.Experience with injury reporting and basic injury triage support.Ability to work flexibly across different shifts when incidents require immediate attention.Additional Skills & QualificationsBilingual Spanish/English experience in a professional setting, particularly in safety or human resources roles.Manufacturing or production environment experience, especially in facilities with multiple shifts.Exposure to or experience with safety training, including powered industrial truck training.Human resources experience related to safety, investigations, and incident documentation.Interest in developing a career path that can lead to supervisory opportunities in safety or HR after gaining several years of experience.Ability to work effectively within a small safety team and collaborate with HR leadership.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in an office within a meat processing facility and involves close collaboration with safety and human resources teams. The position initially follows a 6:00 a.m.

to 3:00 p.m. schedule for several months to cover a coordinator on leave, then transitions to a swing shift from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

on an ongoing basis. Because the facility operates on three shifts, there may be occasional schedule flexibility required to support all shifts and respond to incidents. The environment is production-oriented, with exposure to plant operations and the need to move between office and facility areas.
