This role focuses on conducting assessments, horizon scans, and impact analyses to inform portfolio decisions for senior leadership within a Federal S&T organization, with particular emphasis on military capability development and emerging technologies.Responsibilities include:Perform data-driven S&T assessments and horizon scans to support strategic decision-makingConduct impact analyses evaluating the effects of S&T investments on military capabilitiesDevelop analytical products and briefings that support portfolio-level decision-making for senior leadershipApply bibliometric analysis, patent analysis, science of science techniques, and S&T indicators to evaluate research and technology trendsSupport S&T forecasting activities to assess emerging technologies and future capability impactsDesign and maintain analytical workflows, dashboards, models, and data queriesApply statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques to complex S&T datasetsManage and analyze structured and unstructured data to support portfolio insightsCollaborate with stakeholders to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendationsDocument methodologies, assumptions, and analytical outputs in accordance with Federal standardsHere's what you need:Five (5) years of experience utilizing data-driven methodologies to perform S&T assessments and horizon scans in support of decision-making at a Federal S&T organizationTwo (2) years of experience performing impact analysis of S&T investments on military capabilities in or for a Department of the Workforce (DoW) organizationExperience creating analytical products that support strategic portfolio decision-making for senior leadership in an S&T environmentExperience with bibliometric analysis, patent analysis, science of science, S&T indicators, and S&T forecastingStrong knowledge of statistical methodologies, data analysis techniques, data management, dashboards, modeling, querying, and analytical workflowsDemonstrated strong IT and mathematical skillsBonus Points If You Have:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related fieldExperience supporting Federal or DoD Science & Technology organizationsExperience briefing analytical findings to senior government or military leadershipSecurity Clearance:Active Secret ClearanceEducation:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field preferredWork Schedule:HybridCompensation and Benefits: The projected compensation range for this position is $106,000-$160,000.
