Special Education Paraprofessional
Under the direction of a certified teacher or administrator, partners with certified staff to support instructional activities and ensure students receive the best possible educational experience, promoting academic growth for individual students and small groups.
Under the direction of a certified teacher or administrator, utilizes technology, data-collection tools, and designated programs to implement instructional interventions and document student progress.
Implements academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports for students as directed by certified staff.
Collaborates with certified teachers and support staff to implement instructional plans, accommodations, and modifications aligned to student needs.
Supports school- and District-wide programs, initiatives, and classroom activities as assigned.
Provides personal care for students, including toileting and diapering assistance, as required.
Lifts, transfers, or physically supports students as necessary to ensure safety and participation in school activities.
Supervises students in non-instructional settings, including transitions, hallways, lunch, recess, and other assigned areas.
Uses computers and other digital systems to enter, retrieve, and manage student-related data and documentation.
Uses current technology appropriately and effectively for instructional support, communication, and job-related responsibilities.
Establishes and maintains positive, respectful, and effective relationships with students, staff, parents/guardians, and community members.
Immediately notifies administration of concerns related to student safety, including suspected substance use, medical or mental health concerns, or other serious social or behavioral conditions.
Takes all reasonable and necessary precautions to protect the health, safety, and well-being of students, staff, and school property.
Complies with all contractual obligations, Board of Education policies, administrative procedures, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Demonstrates ethical behavior, professionalism, and confidentiality in all school-related responsibilities.
Maintains a positive attitude toward professional growth, learning, and collaboration.
Assignment, student caseload, and work setting may vary and are subject to change based on student needs and District priorities.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s) or Superintendent.
