CNC Machine OperatorSets up and operates machine to bend, notch, punch, form rolls, arc, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal and structural shapes to blueprint or sketch specifications by performing the following duties.Selects, positions, and aligns dies or tools in machine ram and bed. Retrieve and replenish necessary materials and parts to ensure organized production. Loads correct tooling and material onto machine. Turns setscrews or bolts to fasten clamp bar that holds dies in position. Turns adjustment screws to set specified pressure of ram and clearance between dies to thickness of metal. Lays out or details layout on work stock from blueprints or templates.

Positions workpiece to align layout marks or to backstop. Starts machine to lower ram or depresses pedal to activate ram that bends metal. Sets stops on machine bed and repositions stock to run successive pieces, or to perform multiple operations. Verifies dimensions of workpiece. Other duties may be assigned.High school education preferred.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends as required by union contract. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
