Job Summary:
The Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides specialized respiratory care and neurodiagnostic monitoring in a short-term acute care hospital setting. The role involves performing advanced respiratory assessments, managing ventilators, and monitoring neurological respiratory patterns such as Cheyne-Stokes and periodic breathing. The therapist collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring patient safety and effective treatment. This position requires at least one year of experience and certifications including BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and either CRT or RRT.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform respiratory therapy procedures and neurodiagnostic respiratory monitoring including mask fitting, Cheyne-Stokes, periodic breathing, end-tidal CO2, and oxygen saturation measurements.
  • Manage and monitor ventilators and respiratory support equipment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Provide patient assessments and document respiratory status and interventions using EPIC charting system.
  • Float between like units as needed to support patient care demands.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year respiratory therapy experience.
  • Ability to perform mask fitting and monitor advanced respiratory patterns.
  • Pending license accepted; must comply with all licensing requirements.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Experience with Draeger and Bellavista respiratory equipment.
  • Familiarity with short-term acute care hospital environment.
Special Considerations:
  • Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for travel contracts.
  • On-call duty is not required.
  • Floating between similar units is required.
  • All Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be submitted with application.
Scheduling:
  • Work schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts per week.
  • Weekend work is required every other weekend (EOW).
  • Block scheduling is not currently accommodated.
  • Assignment length is 13 weeks.
