Role Overview

An Air Ambulance Pilot is responsible for safely operating aircraft to provide rapid medical transportation, ensuring crew and patient safety during missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and mission protocols.
  • Plan and execute flights considering weather, weight, and fuel needs.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, ground crew, and dispatch for seamless missions.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and maintain readiness.
  • Maintain accurate flight and maintenance logs.
  • Represent the organization professionally to patients, families, and the public.

Qualifications & Skills

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
  • Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2,500 helicopter flight hours, including night and instrument experience.
  • Ability to perform pre/post-flight inspections and meet physical and mental FAA standards.
  • Skills in flight planning, communication, decision-making, situational awareness, and teamwork.

Preferred Experience

  • Air ambulance operations, Night Vision Goggle experience, turbine-engine hours, and proximity to base preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, perform inspections, lift up to 50 pounds, and tolerate environmental conditions.
