Nuclear Power Plant Rotating Equipment EngineerThis position is responsible for planning and performing engineering duties as assigned, working independently. Reviewing, modifying and approving project specifications of the most complex nature to ensure their conformance to applicable codes and standards and generally accepted industry practices.Key Accountabilities include:Providing proactive engineering for the nuclear power plant rotating equipment to improve overall plant reliability. The rotating equipment includes pumps, motors, turbines, generators, and exciters.Ensuring that rotating equipment performance is monitored and analyzed and that issues are proactively identified and resolved.Supporting Plant Operations and Maintenance on any rotating equipment questions or concerns.Developing long-range improvement plans for key plant assets requiring attention such as obsolete equipment, vulnerabilities from OE, upgrades that would result in operational or financial benefits, and determining and reporting Maintenance Rule availability.Providing innovative engineering solutions for difficult problems.Assessing and resolving potential conditions adverse to quality.Must have knowledge and previous experience working with rotating equipment.Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements include:Bachelors of Science Engineering degree or related Science degree from a college or university with an accredited engineering program.8+ years experience with rotating equipment desired.Technical understanding of nuclear plant processes/programs not well understood by others.Key Metrics include:Qualified to prepare complex design changes.Prepare engineering reports.Perform tasks in accordance with established expectations for nuclear safety and personnel safety.May be responsible for developing other employees in area of expertise.Serves a lead role on projects, teams, processes, or programs.One of few who possess abilities not easily gained and of significant depth in specific area(s) of expertise.Job Family: Engineering ServicesCompany: Vistra Nuclear Operations CompanyLocations: Shippingport, Pennsylvania PennsylvaniaWe are a company of people committed to exceeding customer expectations, great people, teamwork, competitive spirit, and effective communication.
