As a proven industry leader, Fisher Industries continues to grow while maintaining the integrity and values of a family-owned company.POSITION SCOPEThe Roller Operator must be able to safely operate heavy equipment in continuous overlapping passes of rolling subgrade to desired compaction and smoothness.This position is based in the Arizona area and requires travel.PRIMARY DUTIESOperate heavy roller equipment efficiently to meet job specificationsMust be able to work outside for long periods of time in all weather conditions, including hot and cold temperaturesPromote, execute, and adhere to the company's safety program and encourage all employees, subcontractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a cultureWork in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of othersOperate Pad Foot Roller, using vibrate, when necessary, until ground surface is hardOperate Smooth Drum Roller, to seal subgrade and base surfacesThe use of hand tools such as shovels, rakes, etc. to move material will be necessaryDetermine the speed and direction of the machine, based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures, so that ridges do not form by excessive pressureOperate the roller and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate mannerEnsure the job site is clean and free of excess materialPerform all duties within safety guidelines set up by MSHA/OSHA and company policyPerform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTSApplicants must be at least 18 years oldHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.Valid driver's license and have a clean motor-vehicle record to meet company insurance guidelinesUse of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)Knowledge of construction materials, construction processes and industry requirementsWilling to work in a team environmentMechanical knowledge of equipment and being able to perform routine maintenanceMust be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basisFisher Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.We are a drug-free work environment requiring pre-employment and random drug testing.
