Responsibilities also include integrating hardware components, adhering to software best practices, contributing to architectural design, and supporting agile development through peer reviews and version control.Key Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop machine automation and autonomy software, including perception, mapping, and path planning, leveraging geometric methods, machine learning, and sensor fusion techniquesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design, prototype, test, deploy, and transition automation and autonomy software into productionDesign, implement, and unit test efficient, high-quality software that adheres to coding standards, architectural guidelines, and functional requirementsCreate software interfaces to integrate both custom and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components such as sensors, controllers, and related devicesConduct peer reviews and functional testing to support agile, team-based software development practicesContribute to system and architectural design efforts for core control software as neededFollow version control and branching policies using Git to ensure code quality and maintainabilityParticipate in occasional domestic and international travel as requiredQualifications/RequirementsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or MechatronicsIndustry experience in robotics or autonomous vehicles, particularly in areas such as perception, path planning, and positioningStrong proficiency in C++ and Python - hands-on experience requiredProven experience developing algorithms and software using Lidars, cameras, or radarsProficiency working in Linux environmentsPreferred Qualifications:Exposure to machine learning and deep learning techniquesExperience working with GPUs, CPUs, and FPGAsFamiliarity with ROS2, CUDA, OpenCV, and containerization toolsKnowledge of common machine control sensors, actuators, and other control devicesExperience with database systems and cloud computing platformsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong customer focus with the ability to collaborate effectively in both team and individual settingsHighly detail-oriented, consistent, and self-motivatedAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environmentKey Skills Required by KomatsuCOLLABORATIONWorking together with one or more people to complete a project or task or develop ideas or processes.ADAPTABILITYHaving the ability to adjust to changes in their environment.  HUNTER MENTALITYA combination of traits that can help someone achieve their goals with consistency and precision.BUSINESS ACCUMENHaving the ability to understand business situations and make sound decisions that lead to successful outcomes.APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE Being able to use what you’ve learned to make decisions and complete tasks in different situations.LEADERSHIP  The ability to guide, influence or lead others to accomplish a shared goal. Company Benefits Komatsu provides an extensive and robust employee benefits package that is designed to enhance the well-being of our employees and family members.
