Robotic WelderUnder the direction of the Team Leader, the Robotic Welder is responsible to operate and maintain robotic welding tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve required quality and production standards. Required to perform all position welding and operate a variety of hand and air tools as needed. The Robotic Welding Operator must have excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and correct issues quickly and efficiently.To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Operate robotic welder per required specificationsMaintain equipment and perform assigned preventive maintenance in order to ensure that machines produce quality partsAssist with changeover of equipment, components, parts or tooling.Demonstrated understanding of all functions of the robotic controllerUpdate Rev Counters on all axis' of robot and positionerFluent with all functions of the WCC (Work Cell Controller)Complete basic robot programming and demonstrate learned techniques (basic weld cell operation)Work with Manufacturing Engineering on weld changes and re-program robotic welder as neededPerform all position and types of welding.Layout, fit, and welds fabricated, cast, forged, and machined components to assemble a wide variety of complex structural forms and other various components per blueprint specifications and knowledge of welding and metallurgy.Must demonstrate the ability to do so repeatedly without the use of fixturesBolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure position for weldingSet-up gas-shield MIG welder and weld component parts to blueprint specificationsUse advanced knowledge of blueprints and welding symbols to complete job assignmentRework products by dismantling, straightening, re-shaping, and assembling parts using oxy-fuel torch, plasmas, air arch & various other hand tools.Must have ability to program weldments & movements to achieve quality productUnderstand & execute inventory transactions & computer transactionsPerform other duties as requiredFrequent lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling can be expected. Long periods of standing and walking can also be expected in this position. Use of basic tools and equipment.Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing areas may be required and will require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection, paint.Team member must be mobile enough to navigate the manufacturing shop floor safely including walking and standing for up to four hours at a time.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesHigh school diploma or equivalent.4-5 years experience as a welder and fitter
