The Town of Plainville is looking for a dedicated Roadways Maintainer/Truck Driver to join our team. About the Role
As a key member of our Roadways Department, you'll perform a variety of essential tasks that directly benefit our community. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Operating our trucks for snow plowing and hauling debris.
  • Performing seasonal roadside and drainage maintenance.
  • Assisting with the construction and repair of town roads.
  • Leaf Collection
  • Contributing to vehicle maintenance.
This is an active, outdoor role where you'll work in varying weather conditions. Experience with paving, concrete, and heavy equipment operation is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
This full-time position is represented by AFSCME Local with a 40-hour work week and opportunities for overtime. The starting rate of pay is $29.77 per hour .

Qualifications
To join our team, you'll need:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of truck driving experience , preferably with heavy equipment.
  • Experience in vehicle and road maintenance is a plus.
  • A valid Connecticut Commercial Driver's License (CDL) .
  • A clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • The ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug screen.
