In this role, individuals oversee projects with significant scope, involving extensive coordination across multiple subconsultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers. The Project Manager 7 is pivotal to the successful delivery of projects, ensuring seamless execution from inception through completion. This role demands a highly organized and seasoned Project Manager, skilled in balancing diverse technical requirements, overseeing project teams, and meeting rigorous project goals, all while navigating the intricacies of larger-scale project management.The key responsibilities of this role include:Experience leading a design team for developing plans for TDOT and Tennessee municipal projects, including drainage, traffic control plans, signing, pavement markings, intersection designs, pedestrian and bike facilities, bridges, construction phasing, and scheduling.Responsible for project delivery of complete transportation design packages including coordination/oversight of multiple design disciplines.Duties include oversight of preparation of plans, technical specifications, quantity takeoffs and construction estimates in accordance with state design manuals and standard drawings.Project Management experience required, with experience in managing and growing a design team preferred.Experience in developing and managing state DOT projects preferredProposal preparation including scope, schedule and fee.Contract management and billing to achieve profit goals.Strong design knowledge in transportation required.Prepare written technical proposals, assemble teams to meet client criteria, and develop professional relationships.This position requires a demonstrated leader with a broad knowledge of transportation and the processes required to develop design packages utilizing state design standards.Manage a team of designers, project engineers, and sub-consultants for successful project completion.Candidate must have experience training and development staffPE RequiredQualificationsEducation and/or Skills Required: • Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 4 years of related professional experience, or 8 years of equivalent professional experience.• Participation in continuing education and professional development programs.• Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.• Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams.• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.• Deep technical knowledge in the specific field of the project.• Expertise in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.• Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.• Strong negotiation skills to manage multiple contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
