Saw Cutters work under the direction of utility reconstruction performing physical activities in core drilling, concrete sawing, cutting and/or removal.Roles and Responsibilities:Responsible for operation and maintenance of large walk behind sawMaintain saws, equipment, and tooling.Verify measurements and cut depths are accurate.Utilize daily job brief and set up jobs accordingly with proper safety measures.Assist Crew Leader in physical labor at underground utility construction/reconstruction and maintenance work.Collaborate with supervisor and foreman to schedule work and safely perform saw cutting.Perform daily inspection paperwork daily and notify supervision of any issues.Adhere to all DOT Safety Regulations/RequirementsTrain others in safe efficient operation of equipmentComplete misc. duties as assigned.Success Factors:Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shiftAbility to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneelingAbility to understand and follow specific oral and written instructionsAbility to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workersAbility to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policyEnglish usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reportsWillingness and ability to learn additional skillsExperience and Education:High school diploma or equivalent desiredExperience working with underground utilities desiredExperience operating a road saw is requiredBilingual Spanish/English is a plusMinimum two years of experience core drilling, concrete sawing, cutting and/or removal experienceMust possess a valid unrestricted driver's license and have a good driving historyAbility to work days/nights/weekends or out of town if necessaryRequired to adhere to all safety rules and regulationsProficiency in any or all of the following diamond or demolition tools: wall saw, core drill, flat saw, handsaws, ring saws and/or compressor toolsAdditional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License is required within two weeks of employment.Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
