Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) – Perioperative Services (Contract)
Schedule
Shift: Day Shift (4 x 10-hour shifts)
Hours (12-hour clock):
6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Days: Monday – Friday (no set day off)
Position Summary & Responsibilities
Assist surgeon during procedures; maintain sterile field and patient safety
Provide perioperative patient care (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
Support OR workflow, documentation, and team coordination
Requirements
Education & Experience:
Graduate of accredited nursing program (required)
Completion of accredited RNFA program (required)
3+ years scrub & circulate experience in acute care
Experience in ortho, ortho totals, GYN, and general surgery
Annual surgeon review required
Licenses & Certifications:
Active RN license in California (required)
BLS & ACLS (required)
CNOR certification (required)
PALS (preferred)
Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) (required)
