The Wound Care Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care and is responsible for the implementation and management of care for draining wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, skin breakdown and incontinence. Duties also include the assimilation and reporting of performance data and productivity statistics for quality management. The Wound Care Nurse will coordinate communication with the interdisciplinary team on patient wound status and barriers to discharge.
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must hold a current RN state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the standards of the State Board of Nursing
- Certification in wound care preferred
- Certification in sharp debridement procedures preferred
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess good verbal and written communications skills
- Basic computer skills with minimal guidance
