Registered Nurse (RN) - Women's Services

The Registered Nurse in Women's Services will perform critical interventions in patient care, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while effectively monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and ambulation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and addressing spiritual and psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate the learning needs of patients and families, providing education tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstance.
• Act as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Assist in C/Section procedures, including circulation and support for the physician during deliveries.
• Follow policies and protocols for recovery and care of surgical patients.
• Attend to neonates in the C/Section suite and perform comprehensive assessments post-delivery.
• Maintain current certifications in fetal monitoring, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN, attending necessary training as required.
• Communicate essential information effectively to both physicians and patients.

Qualifications

• Must possess ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN certifications.
• Valid RN license in Alabama or multi-state RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Level 1 Nursery, Postpartum, OB/GYN, and Labor & Delivery (L&D/LDRP) settings.
• Experience providing care to OB/GYN patients, including post-operative hysterectomy, antepartum care, triage care, and postpartum care.
