Job Summary

The role of a professional nurse at Jefferson Health involves providing patient‑and‑family‑centered care, developing individualized nursing plans, and integrating evidence‑based practice to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop nursing plans with patients and care partners, respecting cultural beliefs and values.
  • Partner with patients and families to identify learning needs and deliver education.
  • Minimize risk of harm by adhering to established nursing practices and protocols.
  • Use information technology to communicate and manage knowledge, and support ethical decision‑making.
  • Use data to monitor care outcomes and apply improvement methods to continuously enhance quality and safety.
  • Operate effectively within inter‑professional teams, fostering open communication and shared decision‑making.
  • Provide safe, compassionate, and coordinated care based on patients’ preferences and cultural beliefs.
  • Create an inclusive environment, demonstrating problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Engage in learning opportunities and act as a preceptor to staff members.
  • Participate in hospital‑ and practice‑setting committees, including safety and quality improvement.

Qualifications

  • Education: Specialized Diploma (required). BSN or advanced degree within 3 years of hire (preferred).
  • Experience: 1 year RN experience in acute care (preferred).
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Patient‑and‑family‑centered practice, cultural awareness, effective communication, patient assessment, education, medication administration, discharge planning, diagnosis, health information documentation.

Licenses & Certifications

  • BLS – Basic Life Support (required)
  • AHA – American Heart Association (required)
  • RN – Licensed Registered Nurse (PA) – State of Pennsylvania or RN – Licensed Registered Nurse (NJ) – State of New Jersey (required)

Shift & Location

  • Work Shift: Workday Day (United States of America)
  • Primary Location: 100 Medical Campus Drive, Lansdale, Pennsylvania, United States of America
  • Worker Sub Type: Regular Employee Entity

Additional Requirements

  • Active RN license required in state of practice.
  • 12‑hour shifts with every third weekend requirement.
  • Must be able to commute to Jefferson Lansdale Hospital location.
