Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Charge Nurse, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses to support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. You need to be accountable, confident, an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups, and comfortable holding tough conversations. You are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeon and surgical team in the OR
- Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
- Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
- Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
- Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients
Our surgical department consists of 8 operating rooms with a designated cardiac and urology suite. The OR suites are equipped with state‑of‑the‑art lighting, tables, and equipment. While all service lines are supported, hearts, vascular, major ortho, and neuro spine are the most prominent. The recent addition of the DaVinci Xi will allow this surgery department to provide a high level of care. The hospital is expanding its services. Call is required and is based on shift and patient volume. This collaborative department supports learning and professional growth, and we are not currently accepting new graduate or new to specialty applications.
Job Requirements
- 6 months previous acute care RN experience in same unit
- Current and Active Registered Nurse license (CA)
- AHA Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Preferred)
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)
- Moderate Sedation training for all monitored areas
- OR charge nurse experience or comparable leadership roles within a perioperative setting

The hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level III NICU, heart care, wound care, and surgical services. It is a Joint Commission‑certified Thrombectomy‑Capable Stroke Center and an SRC Center of Excellence for Robotic Surgery and Colorectal Surgery.
Positions can be found under National Resident RN (<12 months experience as an RN) or RN Transition/Fellowship (>12 months experience as an RN). This position is represented by CNA.
Pay Range: $59.92 – $80.47 per hour.
