Job Description
Registered nurse specializing in peri-operative nursing practice performs nursing activities in the perioperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phase of the patient’s surgical experience. Peri-operative nursing provides continuity of care designed to meet individual patient needs through the nursing process. While the peri-operative nurse works in collaboration with other health professionals to determine and meet patient needs, the nurse has primary responsibility and accountability for the nursing care of patients having surgical intervention.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
- Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification preferred.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
