Job Summary
Geisinger offers an Inpatient RN position in the Wyoming Valley with a hiring incentive up to $26,000 for eligible candidates. The minimum hiring rate is $41.41, with increased rates for experienced candidates and up to $7 shift differential for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Location: Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV). Shift: Nights. Scheduled weekly hours: 36. Worker type: Regular (non‑exempt).
Responsibilities
Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards. Addresses the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Forms, coordinates, and provides plan of care as established in unit standards, including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning. Provides direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure. Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based on patient response. Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and interdisciplinary team members, and proactively resolves patient needs. Problem solves, troubleshoots, and takes corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment. Participates in unit‑based decision‑making regarding evidence‑based practice. Participates as a team member toward unit and organizational goals and is accountable for unit‑specific metrics. Participates in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.
Position Details
Hours include 7p.m.–7:30a.m.; every other weekend and holiday required. Position is in a clinical environment.
Education
- Graduate from Specialty Training Program‑Nursing (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience (Required)
Certifications & Licensure
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Registered Nurse license, State of Pennsylvania (RN_State of Pennsylvania)
