About the Hospital


Corewell Health Trenton Hospital is a 193-bed acute care teaching hospital that sponsors nine university-affiliated residency programs. This Magnet-designated facility provides comprehensive medical and surgical care and is one of four recipients of the Truven Health Advantage Award in the category of Health and Clinical Outcomes. The hospital houses the only verified Level II trauma center in the region, nationally recognized heart, vascular and pulmonary specialties, a wide array of surgical services—including minimally invasive robotic procedures, orthopedic and neurosurgery services—and comprehensive women’s health services ranging from gynecological to advanced breast care.


Job Description


The Clinical Nurse role at Corewell Health focuses on delivering top-notch patient care. Using the nursing process framework and incorporating patient-family-centered care principles, the nurse ensures the highest quality of care. Under the direction of the Nurse Leader, the nurse is a vital member of the team, making a real difference in the lives of patients and their families.


Scope of Work


Assume responsibility for nursing care plans, assessments, interventions, and evaluations for patients in the assigned unit, while collaborating with multidisciplinary team members, adhering to clinical protocols and safety regulations.


Qualifications



  • Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent graduate from an accredited nursing program.

  • Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), or Doctor of Nursing Practice/PhD—if not yet BSN-prepared, a new graduate with less than 1 year experience must enroll in an accredited BSN program within one year of licensure and complete it within five years; effective April 18, 2023.

  • Required: Graduates from non-accredited nursing schools must have at least one year of acute care experience or more than 2 years in a licensed healthcare role (e.g., LPN, EMT) and must have passed the NCLEX licensure exam.

  • Required: Registered Nurse (RN) license, State of Michigan, required upon hire.

  • Certification Requirements:

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA, ARC, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation – required upon hire.

  • CRT-Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA – 180 days required.

  • Specialty certifications (e.g., critical care, emergency, pre-op, PACU, radiology) as specified.
