This role collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.The RN Practice* Supports Carilion Clinic’s hallmarks of service excellence and quality in all job responsibilities.* Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.* Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.* Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support development of care plans.* Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.* Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in electronic medical records.* Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.* Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.* Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.* Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.* Demonstrates clinical competence in a dynamic ambulatory care environment.* Supports efficient patient flow and resource utilization.* Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.* Supports orientation and training of new employees.* Uses problem-solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.* Provides feedback and participates in shared decision-making activities.* Supports education activities within the department.* Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory and organizational standards.# **What We Require:****Education:** Graduate of a school of professional nursing required.**Experience:** None.**Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:** Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.**Life Support:** AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.**Other Minimum Qualifications:** Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.**Career Advancement Program:** RNs are eligible to participate in the Career Advancement Program (CAP) to attain various levels of advancement based on performance criteria.This job description is intended to be a representative summary of the major responsibilities and accountabilities performed by incumbents in this role.
