Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients’ health through the nursing process. The RN provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation, and patient education within the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates care in collaboration with members of the patient’s treatment team to provide assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation services.
• Performs physical exams, health histories, nursing assessment, and routine observation for patients within established time frames.
• Provides direct patient care including administering medications, wound care, injections, intravenous infusions, and other interventions while operating critical care equipment safely and correctly.
• Recognizes and intervenes in life‑threatening emergencies, administering emergency drugs and using defibrillator or other emergency care.
• Documents patient assessment findings, care rendered, procedures performed, and updates the care plan related to the patient’s condition and response to treatment.
• Provides patient and family education based on assessed needs for health conditions, medications, wellness, and follow‑up care.
• Adheres to OSHA guidelines and quality control methods.
• Performs other duties assigned by the department.

Qualifications

Required education: Associate’s degree in nursing

Required license: Florida RN license

Required experience: OR experience

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
