Description:Work in a fast-paced pediatric emergency room setting.The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to pediatric patients.Ratios are generally 1:4 during days, nights, and weekends, but can increase during busy periods.Travelers are expected to work two out of three holiday bundles, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.Must have strong triage skills and proficiency in pediatric dosage calculations.Experience with phlebotomy, starting IVs, and interpreting 12-lead EKGs is preferred.The position may require floating to pediatric admission floors as needed.During high census periods, admission holds may be boarded in the ED for longer than normal.Candidates should have trauma/resuscitation experience.The facility is a Level I Trauma and Teaching Client specializing in pediatric care.Professional development opportunities are available.Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed.Pre-approved time off is allowed, but requests greater than seven days require approval.This position involves a commitment to patient care and teamwork in a pediatric environment.
