RN - PCU

This position requires a night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse practices independently within a clinical setting and demonstrates the ability to manage complex patient situations. This role provides both routine and advanced nursing care, aimed at meeting the long-term goals of patient care. The RN will also work collaboratively, delegating responsibilities to other healthcare providers when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Identify learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• RN License in the state of Texas or a compact license.
