Description:Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit with patient ratios of 1:4.On rare occasions, the ratio could flex to 1:6.Travelers will be expected to take extra patients if necessary.Two years of experience is required.Strong ventilator experience is essential.First-time travelers are accepted.Weekend requirements include eight weekend shifts within a six-week scheduling period.Shift combinations may include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.Required skills include telemetry monitoring, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response.Interpretation of dysrhythmias must be managed efficiently.Care and management of feeding tubes are necessary.Pre and post hemodialysis management experience is vital.IV therapy and phlebotomy skills are required, including accessing ports and managing central and peripheral lines.Medications including heparin protocols and cardiac drips need to be managed.Neurological experience with CVA and traumatic brain injury care is required.Respiratory care will involve managing ventilated patients and administering non-invasive airway support.Isolation precautions must be followed.This position involves a diverse patient population, including those with pulmonary conditions.Candidates should be prepared for high-acuity patient care and capable of performing special procedures such as endobronchial valve placement and ventilator management.The healthcare facility supports professional growth and development and has a commitment to quality care.
