Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit
Job Summary
Provides nursing care to patients requiring a level of monitoring and intervention between general medical-surgical care and intensive care. Manages patients with cardiac, respiratory, or other conditions requiring close observation, telemetry monitoring, and timely intervention.
Education & Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
- Minimum 1 year of med-surg or telemetry nursing experience (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
- Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required)
Key Responsibilities
- Monitors telemetry and vital signs to identify early signs of patient deterioration.
- Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and unit protocols.
- Performs ongoing patient assessments and communicates changes in condition to the care team.
- Provides patient and family education on disease process, medications, and discharge planning.
- Assists with patient mobility, activities of daily living, and safety precautions.
- Documents care provided and patient response in the medical record.
