Experience:
- 24 months of Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience in a hospital or medical center setting is required.
- Client/neurosurgery care experience is required.
- Orthopedic care experience is required.
- Trauma care experience is highly preferred.
- Must have completed at least one travel assignment in the previous 12 months.
- Drip experience with Heparin, PCA, and 3% Sodium is required.
- EKG/strip reading and telemetry experience is required.
- Specialty equipment experience with telemetry, left equipment, chest tubes, and airvo is highly preferred.
License:
- Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license is required.
Certifications:
- Current ACLS from an accredited organization is required.
- Current BLS from an accredited organization is required.
- NIHSS certification is preferred but can be obtained during onboarding.
Must-Have:
- A de-escalation certificate is preferred, with options including CPI, MOAB, MAB, or SAMA accepted.
- Trauma level I experience is highly preferred.
Description:We are seeking qualified Registered Nurses for a Progressive Care Unit.This role involves providing care to patients with heavy neuro trauma, neurosurgery, and orthopedic conditions.The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6.Nurses will work with drips including Heparin, PCA, and 3% Sodium, with no titration required.Nurses will be required to float across all campuses.Scrubs will be navy blue.Candidates must have experience in telemetry and telemetry-related equipment.This position requires working 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed.Candidates should be prepared for a collaborative environment and be willing to adapt to the dynamic patient care needs.
