Registered NurseJob Title: Registered NurseProfession: NursingSpecialty: PCUDuration: 16 WeeksShift: NightHours per Shift: 12Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year in PCU.License: Valid compact or state license required.Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required; ONS preferred.Must-Have: Current acute care experience; 1 year of PCU experience.Description: This is a mixed acuity unit that cares for both PCU and Med Surg patients. It is a very busy surgical floor. All permanent staff is PCU trained. Staffing ratios are typically 1:4 but can be adjusted to 1:5 based on unit needs. Weekends may vary based on staffing requirements. There is no set or blocked scheduling offered. Travelers may be required to float within their scope of practice. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4 weeks, but changes are not guaranteed. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. Patient diagnoses include surgical oncology, hepatobiliary cancers, and colorectal cancers. Special procedures include chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and management of oncologic emergencies. There is a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls. Equipment includes telemetry systems, bladder scanners, and Alaris pumps. Acute care experience must be current, with candidates working consistently in the last 12 months. References must include two professional references, one from a managerial position.
