Description:This position is for a float nurse.The nurse will float throughout various departments of the hospital.Floating includes the Emergency Department, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU.The nurse will be expected to be flexible with scheduling.No schedule requests can be accommodated.The ratio of patients may be up to 1:7 in Med-Surg.Weekend work is required every other weekend.There are no call responsibilities.A maximum of 7 days of time off may be requested.Travelers are expected to work one major holiday if it falls during their assignment.If two major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler must work both.If three major holidays fall, two holidays must be worked.Compliance with onboarding is necessary to start on time.Full compliance is required by the due date.Nurses in this role will care for post-surgical, medical, and PCU stepdown patients.The nurse may also care for ER hold patients.Nurses will have support from interdisciplinary teams.Special procedures will vary by patient needs.
