Job TitleMonitor post-operative patients' levels of recovery and consciousness from anesthesia and provide updates to the medical team as needed. Obtain and record patients' vital signs. Observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.

Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia and administer medication as prescribed. Update charting (EMR), patient files, and medical records. Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care and answer any questions.Shifts: Days 3/12 hour shifts.

Day shift is , , , , , , , and On call required: Saturday day shift is a worked day 7a-730p – team members, including Travelers are to choose a Saturday when completing their 8 week schedule – required for travelers is 1-2 per 8 week period On Call shifts for PACU are Saturday 7p-730a, Sunday 7a-730p and 7p-730a Travelers are asked to choose 2 day and 2 night shifts in an 8 week periodPositions are for Main PACU and will require ICU experience, PACU experience preferred, PREOP experience a plus. Recent PACU/Preop experience and minimum 2 years ICU experience required not surgicenter experience - they do not see the level of complexity of patients that we see in a level I trauma center. Candidates must possess the ability to think critically and to work independently.• PALS, BLS & ACLS – Required CPAN, TNCC, CCRN - highly desirable • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state/district - Required • PACU/Preop Experience - Required: 2 Years • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program – Required • BSN - Highly desired
