RN PACU Post Acute Care, Charleston, SC 10K Sign-On-Bonus

  • Critical care and/or ICU experience a plus.
  • Minimum of six months to one year’s work experience preferred.
  • Shift Type (Clinical Positions): Day Shift, Night Shift
  • Facility Type: Long-Term Acute Care
  • Job Type: Full-Time

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition post-operatively.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and manage pain relief protocols.
  • Assess, plan, and implement patient care plans with attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure optimal care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families about recovery status.
  • Document comprehensive patient assessments and care interventions.
  • Educate patients and families on post-operative care procedures and expectations.
  • Identify potential complications and respond with appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe environment in the PACU.
  • Participate in patient transfers to different recovery units or discharge.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families during recovery.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new nursing staff in the PACU.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the unit.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • 6 months Previous experience in PACU or critical care settings.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology and pain management.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Understanding of infection control and safety protocols.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
