Job Summary
As a Procedural Registered Nurse, work as a licensed professional using the nursing practice model to oversee patient care. Responsibilities include assessing patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, and developing personalized care plans. Regularly assess patient responses. Contributions help patients navigate healthcare safely by understanding their needs and the system. This prevents complications and delays. Delegate tasks based on Texas nursing laws, patient conditions, and staff skills.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Use careful clinical judgment, assess patients and prioritize their needs, create and adjust care plans for better results.
- Assess nursing practices to ensure quality and effectiveness, track indicators, make changes based on research, join quality improvement initiatives.
- Help teach patients and staff; education will be integrated into care at all levels.
- Use strategies and resources to solve problems in systems thinking for patients, families, and staff.
- Enhance professionalism, contribute to decision‑making, recognize others' contributions meaningfully.
Key Success Factors
- Deep understanding of nursing, patient care standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory, professional standards and certification/accreditation requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking to address problems.
- Monitor patients’ health and communicate changes efficiently to nursing staff and healthcare providers.
- Provide top‑notch, patient‑centered care honoring patient diversity.
Qualifications
- Accredited nursing program or 2 years minimum education required.
- Major focus or specialization in Nursing.
- Relevant professional experience, though less than 1 year may suffice.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- 2 years or more of experience in PACU.
