General Summary
Pre-operative physical assessment of the surgical patient to include, but not limited to, vital signs, head to toe assessment including auscultation of lungs, heart sounds, abdominal, circulation and peripheral I.V. starts. Review pre-op history and complete assessment flow chart. Physical transportation of patient via wheelchair or cart to surgical holding area.

- Review of patient history and pre-operative chart.
- Completion of patient physical assessment.
- Completion of intra departmental transfer sheet and assessment flow chart.
- Communication with O.R. staff regarding patient transfer.
- Conducts verbal or written hand off communication with O.R. staff.
