Full-Time OB/GYN Ambulatory Staff Nurse - Waltham
- Utilizes the nursing process, evidence-based science, and collaboration with other healthcare disciplines to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and families
- Provides competent, compassionate nursing care based on scientific principles and the use of nursing process and a primary nursing model.
- Identifies, facilitates, and evaluates outcomes of nursing care for an individual patient or groups of patients.
- Coordinates involvement of the patient, family, and health team members in patient care, including patient/family teaching.
- Participates in orientation of new permanent and temporary staff members.
- Participates in daily operational activities necessary for safe patient/staff environment.
- Participates in and contributes to performance improvement activities for the unit.
Skills and Experience for a(n)OB/GYN Ambulatory Staff Nurse
- MA RN license required
- BSN required
- Required to work with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, communicate effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking skills required
- Required to work with patients and families while developing respectful, trusting, and ongoing relationships
- AHA BLS required
- Electronic fetal monitoring experience required
- Experience working in a women’s health related field and/or in an ambulatory setting preferred

Summary
Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients’ clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.
Essential Functions
- Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
- Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
- Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
