RN - Multispecialty Clinic

General Duties

• Participate in the care of patients under the supervision of the manager/director and in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
• Measure and record appropriate vital signs, identify abnormal values based on age and developmental level, and report findings to the appropriate medical provider.
• Assist with clinic flow, including patient arrival, performing patient procedures, scheduling new and follow‑up appointments, and facilitating smooth patient exits.
• Prepare patients for examination, treatment, and/or procedures, observe for signs of abuse/neglect, and respond to emergencies in accordance with policy.
• Perform non‑complex procedures such as simple dressing changes, administer prescribed medication and/or vaccinations, and collect, prepare, and secure specimens for testing.
• Maintain medication inventory, ensure proper disposal of expired medications, and keep refrigerated storage logs.
• Document clinical tasks, testing and procedures appropriately in the patient medical record, and maintain privacy of personal health information.
• Navigate the Electronic Medical Record for results, update patient data, schedule follow‑ups, and prepare safety reports when warranted.
• Assist others with information, direction, or help as required, and consult with clinic manager on activities, requirements, and problems.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and support compliance with safety, infection control, quality improvement and other regulatory standards.
• Operate clinic equipment (computers, printers, scanners, fax machines), obtain external medical records, scan correspondence, and answer telephone calls promptly.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing in Louisiana.
• American Heart Association, Basic Life Support Health Care Provider certification.

This position does not formally supervise employees.
