Position Details
Full-time equivalent: 0.9 (36 hours per week). On‑site shift 4: 07:00‑19:30 and 19:00‑07:30. Includes every third weekend and rotating holidays.
Job Summary
The 4NE 33‑bed Internal Medicine Unit specializes in Cystic Fibrosis care. The patient population includes sepsis, CHF, COPD, ESRD, diabetes, UTI, GI complications, sickle cell and more. The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for adult patients in an inpatient setting. Clinical responsibilities include Foley insertions, tracheostomy care and suctioning, G‑tube management, wound care, NG tube placement, IV/central line medications, PCA pumps, and wound vacs. The unit offers a 9‑week orientation, dedicated preceptor, and mentoring in a hands‑on learning environment with no mandatory overtime.
Experience
Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of the target patient populations specific to this unit.
Education
Completion of an accredited School of Nursing program, eligible for RN licensure. Non‑BSN RN with less than one year of experience must enroll in a BSN (or higher) program within 15 months of hire, finishing within 5 years (6 years for MSN, DNP, or PhD). BSN preferred.
Licensure
Current Wisconsin RN license or a multi‑state nursing license from a state in the NLC. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent required within 90 days of hire.
