Overview
The RN/Internal Agency position is a 13‑week temporary full‑time assignment supporting emergency department and other acute care units at Methodist University Hospital. The role requires a Registered Nurse to deliver specialized patient care, participate in continuous improvement, and lead within the clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practice excellence through specialized nursing assessment, care, evaluation and education to patients and families in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Education and Experience
Associate’s Degree in Nursing. 1–3 years of experience in an acute‑care environment; at least two years in an acute‑care hospital setting.

- Analytical skills to assess complex patient conditions and develop comprehensive plans of care.
- Ability to synthesize multiple sources of information to resolve complex problems.
- Proficiency in applying technical principles, concepts and techniques central to nursing practice.
Licensing and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (TN), Tennessee Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support – American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support – American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support – American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification – American Heart Association
Supervision
The Registered Nurse directs and delegates all patient care activities on nursing units.
Physical Demands
- Climbing, pushing, standing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, repetitive motion.
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
- Requires close visual acuity, including color, depth perception, and field of vision.
- Exposure to patient body fluids, hazardous or poisonous materials; ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
Schedule
Positions require a flexible schedule according to agreed commitment level.
